Why Adjudicate?

What are the benefits of Local Adjudication?

Municipalities can establish their own code hearing departments to gain greater control over the outcome of certain violations instead of sending those violations to the Circuit Court. Most municipalities realize fewer dismissals and/or continuances and Patrol Officers do not have to attend hearings. The hearings are generally more conveniently located and held in the evening so work schedules don’t get interrupted. Most importantly, the Municipality retains all revenues as opposed to the small percentage normally received from the Circuit Courts.
